White kitchen cabinets, while basic, can have a great effect on a kitchen if done properly. This kitchen remodel in East Lansing has simple white cabinets that look amazing. The oak floors were already in great shape allowing the homeowner to spend more on other areas like the neutral colored granite countertops. Keeping a kitchen remodel simple like this can still have a dramatic effect if done well.

This Lansing area kitchen remodel was done in a Cherry cabinet with a pecan glaze finish. The different depths of upper cabinets give the room a dramatic look while adding storage space for small kitchen appliances. The custom tile back splash was an extensive process that included our in-house drafter drawing each tile on the wall before placing them to make sure it was perfect. The backsplash above the tile features ceramic tile that looks like a wood trim, 1×1 mosaic tiles, and a decorative tile placed at a diagonal. The light colored granite countertops paired with the light colored tile backsplash help brighten up the space. The glass door panels above the wine cooler add a nice decorative touch to the already dramatic kitchen.

This kitchen remodel in Okemos is a small yet amazing kitchen. The homeowners wanted to completely redo their kitchen with character. There are so many details in this kitchen; from the vintage style handles to the green mosaic tile backsplash. We started the remodel process by moving the wall that divided the kitchen and living room over a mere 22 inches and enclosing it to include only a small pass through. We decided to do the cabinet doors on either side of the pass through in a different style door to break-up the monotony of the wall cabinets. The high-definition laminate countertops added a high-end look at a moderate price. Using a corner sink allowed the homeowners to utilize their food preparation area the best. The final touch is the Duraceramic flooring which looks and feels like ceramic tile, but does not have the cold feeling as a ceramic tile.

  • Light Wood Kitchen

The goal of this couple was to create a large area where they could have family get-togethers.  By removing the center cabinets, knocking out the knee wall, and squaring off the dining room with a 10×10 addition, we created a large open living area perfect for all of their family to use.  The new wood floor creates an easy to clean surface throughout the entire space that allows the grandchildren to run their race cars on.  The light finished wood cabinets offer excess storage and keep the space bright.  The countertop and backsplash are both made of Corian and create a easy to clean surface for any spills or splatters.  The large island counter space makes a perfect spot for the family to gather, prep or serve food on, or even play games on.  The matching of the crown-molding with the cabinetry trim required us to custom-cut the trim to fit snuggly with one another.

This lake house required some opening up.  Facing the lake, the homeowner wanted to be able to have a view while cooking and entertaining friends.  Even though the added windows took from the storage of the upper cabinets, we added additional cabinets throughout the kitchen area to make it larger and more open.  The Corian countertop created the perfect amount of contrast to all of the bright natural light coming in through the new windows.  The cork floor gives a nice natural feeling to the room and brings the outdoors in.  We continued the cork flooring into the dining room to join the two rooms.  The new pendant lighting lights up the island creating a great ambiance and making the prep work of cooking easier.

This kitchen took a dramatic change.  We began the renovation with opening the back wall to the new seasonal room.  By removing the solid door and window and installing a new bi-parting patio door with grids, it allows the light to flow from outside right into the kitchen.  The next major change was the flooring; we removed the old linoleum flooring and installed a beautiful hardwood floor.  The new wood cabinets have a simple shaker style that gives the large area a simple look, adding glass to only a few cabinet doors gives the homeowner a place to showcase some of her prized pieces.  The new High-Definition Laminate top is an inexpensive alternative to a great looking countertop; with a classy look, and low price tag, it is ideal for anyone who wants to update without breaking the bank.  The ceramic tile backsplash, in an off-set layout, offers a durable and elegant look.

  • Re-Finished Cabinets

When it comes to custom-built cabinets it can be more cost effective and beneficial to simply re-finish the cabinets. This is exactly what we did in this mother/daughter kitchen.  With painting the cabinets white and having the doors and drawer faces sanded and stained this kitchen took on a whole new look.  The Corian solid surface top with a custom-built Corian sink makes a dramatic top for these cabinets.  The white Corian backsplash has the appearance of drywall but is much easier to maintain.  The large 24×24 floor tiles carry into the bathrooms as well as the foyer

  • White Kitchen with Solid Surface Counter-top

Going from dark wood to a white cabinet is a very dramatic change.  This kitchen had a complete remodel that turned it from dark and outdated, to bright and modern.  The white shaker style cabinets with bead board end panels give the kitchen a clean look that the couple was going for.  We topped the cabinets with a gray Corian solid surface countertop.  The subway style tile backsplash is a great contrast with the simple white cabinets.  Some structural changes like changing the round archway into a square opening and changing the bi-fold laundry doors into a single shaker style door added to the goal of a crisp look.

  • Simple Hickory Kitchen

Even a small kitchen has a lot of potential.  This family was looking to modernize their kitchen but still keep it simple.  The Hickory Natural cabinets, combined with the High-Definition Laminate countertops, really give this simple kitchen a great look. The flooring, while it appears to be ceramic tile, is actually sheet vinyl flooring.  This vinyl allows for the floor to have a little cushion, making it a little easier to stand on for an extended period of time, and requires no type of fastening to the sub floor.

  • Fully Remodeled Basement

This newly combined family was looking to make a house big enough for all of them.  With five kids, three of which are teens, they wanted to create an area for them that they could get away to.  Finishing the basement allowed them to add three bedrooms, a full bathroom, a kitchenette, and a living room area away from the main part of the house.  The double bowl vanity features a Solid Surface top with a large mirror big enough for everyone to use.  The ceramic floor in the bathroom is picked up again the small kitchenette area where they decided to go with a High-Definition laminate top.  The carpeting starts at the top of the stairs and flows through all three bedrooms as well as the large living room area.  With eight feet high ceilings and full size windows this new space doesn’t even feel like a basement!
