White kitchen cabinets, while basic, can have a great effect on a kitchen if done properly. This kitchen remodel in East Lansing has simple white cabinets that look amazing. The oak floors were already in great shape allowing the homeowner to spend more on other areas like the neutral colored granite countertops. Keeping a kitchen remodel simple like this can still have a dramatic effect if done well.

This Lansing area kitchen remodel was done in a Cherry cabinet with a pecan glaze finish. The different depths of upper cabinets give the room a dramatic look while adding storage space for small kitchen appliances. The custom tile back splash was an extensive process that included our in-house drafter drawing each tile on the wall before placing them to make sure it was perfect. The backsplash above the tile features ceramic tile that looks like a wood trim, 1×1 mosaic tiles, and a decorative tile placed at a diagonal. The light colored granite countertops paired with the light colored tile backsplash help brighten up the space. The glass door panels above the wine cooler add a nice decorative touch to the already dramatic kitchen.

On a walk-out style basement, steep grading, or a bi-level it can be hard to add on to the home. This three season room is built-up on posts to accommodate the steep drop off of the grade. This room in Lansing features vinyl windows with a pliable “glass” in them. The panels have fully removable panes in them that create a screen room when removed. The stairs and lower deck are both constructed out of treated lumber. The interior of the room was finished in vinyl and aluminum coil to make the space weather safe. The indoor/outdoor carpet has a nice finish to it, yet is able to withstand any rain that might come in when windows are open. The outdoor ceiling fan will help to cool the room on hot days.

This small addition in Grand Ledge was done for a member for the Armed Forces while they served overseas. When they arrived home after their tour they came home to a brand new addition and adjoining deck. The room features a vaulted ceiling, dry walled walls, and a vinyl floor that looks like flagstone. The attached treated deck gives a great new transition area from the home to the backyard. The gray walls are so subtle yet a perfect transition between the dark floor and white windows.

This four season room in Laingsburg was built to replace a kit sunroom that had been installed decades ago. We removed the old room and post-frame constructed this room in its place. The walls are all covered in a knotty pine to break it up from the rest of the home. The vaulted ceiling was done in drywall with the beam being covered in pine. The vinyl flooring was an excellent color and material choice as it looks like tile but is warmer to the touch. This room is the perfect getaway for this couple where they can enjoy the outdoors even on a cold day.

This three season room in Grand Ledge features some children-friendly windows, which is perfect for the subdivision location. The “glass” in these windows is a pliable vinyl that never cracks or shatters. The vinyl can be stretched to conform to whatever is placing pressure on it, and when released will go back to its normal state. These panels have four sections to them that can slide to give you more options as to how much air to let in. The vinyl comes in different shades as well allowing you to adjust how much light you want to come in. The vinyl sections are fully removable in case you want to turn the room in to a screen room. The aluminum ceiling and trims allow for the room to be exposed to weather without being damaged. The indoor/outdoor carpeting gives the room a cozy feeling without having to worry about leaving windows open. This room is a great middle ground if you can’t decide whether to go with a screen room or a four season room.

This modern family room addition was added to a farmhouse in Williamston. The large 24×24 addition with a vaulted ceiling included a Hase Bari gas fireplace, faux stone covered walls, large heated tile floor, and a custom-built desk with a granite countertop. The raised fireplace base is covered in 6×6 ceramic tile to break is up from the remaining tile floor. With so much tile, the homeowners went with the wise decision of adding an under the tile heating system to warm the room. The sleek ceiling fans add to the room’s modern look. The built-in surround sound speakers and eyeball lighting were some of the final touches this addition had to make it the most enjoyable family room.

Music room, play room, safe room, family room, bathroom, laundry room, and storage room are all of the spaces we created out of this complete basement remodel in the DeWitt area. Starting from concrete walls, we framed in all of the spaces and started from there. The stairway features an open rail with wrought iron spindles and built-in under the stairway storage. The play room features a tray ceiling that allowed us to box around any beams or duct work but keep the ceiling height. The chalkboard painted walls were a great use of wall space in a room for children. The posts were custom-wrapped in wood to give the space a more finished feeling. Under the stairs we built-in shelves to utilize the space that is often lost, one shelf even features hinges to be able to still utilize the space behind that. The storage room has built in shelving of various heights and depths, with an island covered in a laminate countertop. The full bathroom we added to the home has built-in linen shelves and a Marbelite vanity top. The homeowner preferred that we did not share pictures of the music room or the safe room.

Ideally, when we think of remodeling a room in our home we all want the end product to be the room of our dreams. Realistically, the room is many degrees better than before, but there are still things we wish we could do. This bathroom remodel was the exception for this couple. When Mr. and Mrs. decided to remodel their master bathroom they did not want to stop at anything. The decision to use a vinyl wainscoting and trim as opposed to a standard wood wainscoting is one that we have been encouraging more of our customers to make. This large master bathroom in DeWitt also features a large whirlpool style chromatherapy bathtub. The backlit mirror is a good way to add lighting around a mirror without having to give up wall space for lights; which allowed the homeowners to add additional shelves to each side of the mirror. The large custom shower features frameless glass walls and door, a rain disc shower head, and is covered from floor to ceiling in tile. The large mirrors on the walls around the tub make the room feel even larger, and give an unusable space purpose. This bathroom remodel was a complete overhaul.

This kitchen remodel in Okemos is a small yet amazing kitchen. The homeowners wanted to completely redo their kitchen with character. There are so many details in this kitchen; from the vintage style handles to the green mosaic tile backsplash. We started the remodel process by moving the wall that divided the kitchen and living room over a mere 22 inches and enclosing it to include only a small pass through. We decided to do the cabinet doors on either side of the pass through in a different style door to break-up the monotony of the wall cabinets. The high-definition laminate countertops added a high-end look at a moderate price. Using a corner sink allowed the homeowners to utilize their food preparation area the best. The final touch is the Duraceramic flooring which looks and feels like ceramic tile, but does not have the cold feeling as a ceramic tile.
