Converting an existing deck into a seasonal room is great for those looking to still enjoy their backyard with protection from Mother Nature. This family decided to turn an old covered deck into a new three season room. Leaving the existing patio door intact to the home, we constructed a 16×16 three season room on posts. The room is filled with floor to ceiling white North Star windows with two ProVia entry doors going to decks on either side of the room. The gable end wall also features two trapezoid windows allowing the most sunlight possible to come through and really making the room feel open. To add insulation to the room because it only had 2×4 walls, we used an insulated Polydeck floor system. On the exterior of the room we added a 5×7 wolmanized deck with stairs connecting to the room. We covered the exterior of the home, garage, and addition with a foam-backed siding, and asphalt shingles on the roof to match the home. This three season room and the siding project took less than two months once we began demo.
